Day 1
Arrival at the hotel in Brenzone. Welcome and briefing with our guide. It will be even nicer to get to know each other with an aperitif on the shores of Lake Garda, before dinner.
Day 2
We set off towards the village of Garda. The path winds through nature and runs almost entirely along the Sentiero del pellegrino (Pilgrim's Path), where there is no shortage of votive chapels, some of some artistic interest. Before crossing the safe Tibetan bridge, opened at the end of 2019, we enjoy a coffee in the small square of Pai. We visit the village of San Vigilio and, if the lake permits, the last 3 km on the beach will take us to the town of Garda. Return to the hotel in Brenzone by public transport, in time to prepare for dinner. 20 km, approx. 8 h in total. Height difference +/- 500D+ 500D-
Day 3
after breakfast, we set off at a leisurely pace in the direction of Malcesine. The route is without altimetrical difficulties, but above all enjoys a beautiful view of Lake Garda. We will pass the hamlets of Marniga, Magugano, Assenza, Cassone (where we will pass on the shortest river in the world) and Val di Sogno. Lunch in Malcesine. In the afternoon visit to the Scaliger castle (entrance fee 6 euro) where Goethe spent a bad quarter of an hour... A walk through the beautiful town of Malcesine and by mid-afternoon we are ready to return to the hotel in Brenzone by public transport. The excitement continues with an aperitif and dinner with friends. 11 km 50D+ with 4 hours of walking
Day 4
Breakfast and off up the hill to the ancient hamlet of Biaza. The hamlet is worth a visit for its church of Sant'Antonio Abate, located in a scenic spot: the 14th-century fresco inside is worth seeing. We proceed to Campo, where we feel as if we are in the Tuscan hills.... The contrada seems to have existed since 1023 and time here really does seem to have stopped in the Middle Ages. From December to February, the Presepi a Campo event is held here: the small village is transformed into a magnificent Christmas village dotted with small, large nativity scenes and Christmas characters. We then return to the shores of Lake Garda, where we can say goodbye with a last aperitif before returning home, with renewed energy! 8 km 250D+ with 4 hours walking time
Includes accommodation in double rooms, half-board with water at the table, 1 packed lunch, guide. Does not include travel to and from Brenzone, lunches, optional tastings, public transport tickets, tourist tax anything not specified under ‘Includes’.
