Let’s go to the lake! Here you are at the Garda Lake, at its northernmost tip, in the beautiful town of Riva del Garda. Here you can really find a perfect combination of city and nature, sport and relaxation: trekking and a little bit of biking will allow you to get to know the upper Lake Garda. But not only Garda: from here it is also easy to admire the other alpine lakes that like blue brushstrokes color the landscape: Tenno, Ledro, Toblino lakes.

Day 1
Arrival at the hotel in Riva Del Garda in the late afternoon and accommodation in the reserved rooms.

Day 2
Today you will go to Lake Tenno. You will take the pedestrian road to Varone, where a path begins a bit' challenging but among wonderful olive trees will take you under the castle of Tenno. Here you will visit the medieval village of Frapporta which communicates directly with the castle above. A few steps away you will find the vantage point of Grom from which you can have an amazing view of the Riva and the upper part of Lake Garda. You will resume the journey that will take you to the shore of Lake Tenno, but first a stop at the medieval village of Canale di Tenno is a must, recently included among the most beautiful villages in Italy. On a beautiful panoramic path you will reach the lake where you will be captivated by the incredible colors of the waters that reflect the surrounding Alps. With the green waters of the lake still in your eyes, a bus will take you to see the famous Varone Waterfall, a magical and exciting place. To return to Riva del Garda take the bus. Free afternoon! Day 3
You will walk today on the lakefront of Riva del Garda and then Torbole, characterized by long beaches. Past the small old town, you will admire the house where at the end of '700 the Goethe spent a night, then head towards Nago. Between Torbole and Nago you will follow the famous Path of Santa Lucia, an old paved road that connected Lake Garda to the Adige valley. On a panoramic road overlooking the lake and Mount Brione, you will arrive at the Busatte Park. Stop at the bar of the park for a little refreshment, then start again on the famous Busatte-Tempesta Path: the balcony path on the lake will take you through woods and breathtaking views to the resort of Tempesta, which once marked the border between the Kingdom of Italy and the Austrian Empire. Along the way you descend the famous 400 panoramic iron steps suspended, attached to the rock. Once in Tempesta, the bus will take you back to the hotel in 10 minutes, where you can relax on the long beaches of Riva del Garda. N. B. if the Busatte trail is closed for maintenance work, it will be replaced with the trek to the church of S. Barbara. Day 4
Let's ride! After picking up your bikes near the hotel, you will set off for Lake Toblino. The route is almost entirely on a safe bike path. When booking, you will be able to choose between muscle bike or e-bike. After crossing the iron bridge over the Sarca River, you will head for the bike path named after the river itself. Along the way you will pass the historic center of Arco with its castle overhanging the town and the Fies power plant, a site of industrial archaeology now revived through contemporary art. You will see the moonscape of the Marocche di Dro, the largest landslide in the entire Alpine arc. Arriving at Lake Toblino, with its romantic castle, you will have time to refresh yourself in the castle cafeteria. Before returning to Riva, a stop at the Bike & Wine Bar in Dro is a must, a nice place surrounded by vineyards where you can enjoy a glass of local wine. Day 5
You will walk in the direction of Lake Ledro, for a stretch on the Ponale Road, then after a couple of km, you will take the old path that connected Lake Garda to the Valle di Ledro. The path you will walk was the only link between the old port of Ponale and the Valle di Ledro before the construction of the road in 1851 then disused in 2004 and converted into a suggestive pedestrian cycle. Halfway through you will stop for lunch in Pre di Ledro, a famous village because here for 86 days (from November 11 to February 5) every year you do not see the sun. Past the villages of the valley of Biacesa di Ledro and Molina di Ledro, you will reach Lake Ledro, alpine lake 650 meters above sea level with incredible colors and famous for its stilts. Here before taking the bus to return to Riva del Garda, there is time for an aperitif by the lake and, if you want, to visit the Museum of stilts. Day 6
Departure by bus in the direction of Pregasina, from here after passing a long tunnel and the village with only 55 inhabitants, you will head on an easy forest walk to Punta Larici, at 907 above sea level, perhaps the most exciting vantage point of all Lake Garda, from here you can see the largest lake in Italy for all its 52 km in length. On the long descent that takes us back to Riva del Garda, passing through the village of Pregasina,a stop at the Albergo Panorama restaurant is a must to taste its abundant local cuisine. After having refreshed yourself and passed the high Regina Mundi statue, where you can admire a unique view of Riva del Garda and Mount Brione, you will enter the famous Ponale Path, an ancient and only road that connected the Valle di Ledro. Reopened in 2004 only for pedestrians and bikes, it retains its charm between breathtaking views and ancient galleries. Once you arrive in Riva del Garda in the middle of the afternoon, an aperitif is a must. See you next time! Route info: 15 km, 7 hours walk breaks included; difference in height: +/- 550-850 m
